Man in the Moon
Check out this quarters Cinefex magazine 128 for Joe Fordham's article Man in the Moon talking to visual effects supervisor Rob Legato who oversaw visual effects on Scorcese's Hugo. The story features Nvizage's work in creating virtual previs animatics.
"Previsualization supervisors Nic Hatch and Martin Chamney, co-founders of Nvizage, joined the production to develop 3D animatics of virtual set extensions, initially focusing on a chase scene that follows Hugo as he flees through the crowded train station pursued by the station inspector and a dog. “The main station set at Shepperton was only the middle concourse,” observed Martin Chamney. “We had to figure out what was beyond the greenscreen. Supervising art director Dave Warren gave us photographs of various Paris stations, and we built a hybrid design from those. "
